Divergent fans everywhere are pulling out their cash and costumes for the premier of “Allegiant” on Friday.
The third book in the trilogy by Veronica Roth, follows Tris, Shailene Woodley, and Four, Theo James, as they venture out of Chicago where a battle ensues.
Despite the success of the previous two movies, though, “Allegiant” is expected to bring in low numbers at the box office. Deadline.com reports the opening to only garner $30-32 million and not even reach the number one spot.
Ratings for the movie haven’t been promising, either. IMDb gave the movie 5.9/10, Metacritic rated it just 36 percent and Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a depressing 19 percent.
The poor numbers could be due to trends in young adult series openings. “The Hunger Games” series saw a similar downturn for the release of its third movie.
They could also be due to the series’ fans that are still angry after the ending of the trilogy.
Carmike The Summit 16 will premiere the movie at 7 p.m.
