The Birmingham area, with its numerous quaint towns, is a runner’s dream. With a plenitud of parks, trails, greenways and neighborhoods, there are numerous places to take a run. Here are some of the best.
Most Scenic: With beautiful Mountain Brook homes on one side and trees and the river on the other, the trails at Jemison Park are a perfect place to enjoy beautiful scenery while running. The park also offers a mix of both paved and dirt trails, allowing you to mix up what you run on and if you want to run alongside the road or on the dirt trails hidden behind trees.
Most Homelike: Running in the Edgewood and Homewood community neighborhoods feels like home away from home. The wide streets and sidewalks allow runners to explore these neighborhoods safely while admiring the homes.

Most Birmingham: Since the Vulcan symbolizes the city of Birmingham, it only seems right to run at the 2 mile trail located at the Vulcan statue. This trail also offers beautiful views of downtown Birmingham.
Most Adventurous: In the Hoover area, Moss Rock Preserve offers a mix of beginner to more challenging and hilly dirt trails. It’s the perfect place to challenge yourself on harder trails, while enjoying the beautiful wooded area with waterfalls.
